br0ken.exe started to form when I first heard the 8-bit version of "Pretty Hate Machine" made by Inverse Phase. Nine Inch Nails is my favorite band of all time and on top of that I already wanted to make some chiptunes.

I chose to cover the Broken EP because naturally it followed PHM in the NIN catalog, it didn't have as many tracks (this being a side project of mine after all) and the angry, aggressive sound of it was a good chance to let off some steam and frustration.

I chose not to use any compression on the tracks, since it kinda ruins the mood. You can hear it best on "Game Over" (Gave Up). The volume change between verse and chorus is like a wall of hate hitting you in the face.

Just to sum it all up: br0ken.exe is a chiptune cover of Nine Inch Nails EP "Broken".

"Physical" and "Suck" are not included since they're not really a part of Broken although they were included in the release.
